The Partenopei are active on several fronts on the mercato and their interest in the Toro defender has been established for several weeks now.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, Napoli's priority is currently to sell their outgoing players to raise cash, which would then be re-invested on Maksimovic.

While Inler's departure for Leicester is reportedly very near to being done, Vargas and Henrique are a little less definite.

Though a deal is not settled yet, TMW reports that they are likely to both move together to Villareal.

Napoli may also be selling Jonathan de Guzman, though Olympique Marseilles's offer of €2.5m does not match their demand of €4m.

With these sales settled, Napoli would then turn their full attention to Maksimovic, though Calciomercato.com believes the new funds will be prioritised for Sampdoria's Roberto Soriano.
