Just hours after assuring there would be “no-one coming in or going out with Inter,” Napoli met with the Nerazzurri.
The statement was made by President Aurelio De Laurentiis on Radio Kiss Kiss this afternoon, denying speculation of talks for Dries Mertens.
However, on Wednesday evening Napoli director Cristiano Giuntoli was photographed emerging from a meeting with Inter Coach Roberto Mancini and director Piero Ausilio.
The scoop was confirmed by Sportitalia and Sky Sport Italia, who saw the encounter at Milan’s Hotel Melia.
Mancini and Ausilio then continued their evening at dinner, presumably to discuss more transfer situations.
De Laurentiis threatened to sue Mertens’ agent for trying to orchestrate a transfer to San Siro.
