Reds boss Brendan Rodgers has made it clear the Italian international is not part of his plans for this season, and urged him to find another club.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, the forward has agreed to join Lazio on loan until the end of the season, but the move is dependent on the Biancocelesti making the group stages of the Champions League.

The Aquile hold a 1-0 advantage from the first leg of their play-off with Bayer Leverkusen, and will play the second leg in Germany on Wednesday.

The website believes that Liverpool have agreed to pay 70 per cent of Balotelli’s reported €6m per season salary, with Lazio paying the rest.

Despite this, a €1.8m salary would still put the former Milan striker among the club’s highest earners, so the capital club are not willing to commit until they are sure of having Champions League revenue.
