Everton and West Ham United are reportedly interested in Juan Iturbe, but Roma would rather sell them Gervinho.

The winger arrived from Verona last summer to much fanfare, but has failed to hold down a place in Rudi Garcia’s team.

With the arrival of Iago Falque and Mohamed Salah, Iturbe is likely to see even less playing time, and sporting director Walter Sabatini is in London to negotiate with the two English clubs, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

With the arrival of Iago Falque and Mohamed Salah, Iturbe is likely to see even less playing time, and sporting director Walter Sabatini is in London to negotiate with the two English clubs, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

However, the newspaper reports that there are a number of obstacles to any deal, the most significant being the player’s reluctance to move to England.

Iturbe has a deal with Genoa, but the Grifone are unable to meet the Giallorossi’s asking price, reported to be around €20m.

Everton and West Ham are similarly unwilling to offer that much, preferring instead to take the player on loan with a buy-out clause.

Gazzetta is therefore reporting that Sabatini is offering Gervinho instead, who was again unimpressive in the weekend draw with Verona.

The Ivorian is seen as more likely to accept a move to the Hammers or the Toffees, having previously played in the Premier League for Arsenal.
