Milan are renewing their interest in Axel Witsel, offering a total of €25m spread out over four years.
According to Mediaset Premium Sport, the Rossoneri have called Zenit with a new proposal after the player rejected a contract renewal.
They would pay the Russian club €3m for a loan with mandatory option to buy for another €22m including performance-related bonuses.
The fee would be spread out over a period of four years, so it doesn’t weigh too heavily on the balance sheet.

Zenit have until now resisted all offers for Witsel, but the Belgium international is pushing for a transfer to Serie A.
He had also been linked with Juventus, but they seem close to a deal with Schalke 04 for Julian Draxler.
