Paulo Sousa hailed Fiorentina “courage and hunger” for beating Genoa when down to 10 men.

Milan Badelj saw red for a second bookable offence, but the Khouma Babacar goal proved enough.

“We had more chances to finish off the game. Towards the end there were some struggles, but other qualities emerged, such as courage and hunger. Winning like this is very satisfying,” said the Coach.

“Giuseppe Rossi works with the team every day and now just needs to get more minutes in his legs to go back to being the player we all know.

“The fans really helped us and were fundamental when we went down to 10 men. Badelj apologised immediately for his red card. We must start to understand certain situations better because they are fundamental to win games.”
