Sampdoria have confirmed contract renewals for Eder, Roberto Soriano and Lorenzo De Silvestri.

Blucerchiati President Massimo Ferrero announced this morning that the deals would be done today, and sat alongside the players at a Press conference to finalise the renewals.

De Silvestri will remain at Marassi until 2019, with the other two players signing a deal until 2020.

“De Silvestri? The first contract I signed when I arrived at Sampdoria was his,” Ferrero recalled.

“I thought I’d signed him at the time, but it turned out it was a co-ownership.

“As for Eder, he’s a lad I’m very fond of. I’m happy to have him here and I’m happy he’s staying, even if he deserves a big club.

“I’ll try to make him happy, whether that’s staying at Sampdoria, or going to a team that he wants to join.

“We were once considered a provincial team, the newspapers divide teams into a first and second level. Everyone talks about Inter [who were interested in Eder] but Samp having nothing to envy them.

“Sampdoria are proving our worth, it’s a club with a lot of important players. For me, Eder is worth €100m, but I don’t need money.

“I only sell at the right price, otherwise I keep good players. No discounts.

“I’m very happy about Soriano’s renewal. Since last year I’ve been breaking his balls, always telling him to shoot, because I know he can score goals.

“Did you see Alessandro Florenzi in the Champions League? Soriano, for me, is a champion.

“I get excited when I see Samp play. I want my lads to be remembered like [Roberto] Mancini and [Gianluca] Vialli.

“I don’t hold back players who want to leave, but I sell at the right price, not for a discount.”
