Although there were not believed to be any direct confrontations between fans and the team, messages of discontent were left scrawled on the ground and the walls around Formello.

‘Shameful 11’, ‘no balls or legs, 11 b*****ds’ and ‘Lotito Romanista s**t’ were among the messages seen left around the ground.

Lazio play Genoa at the Stadio Olimpico on Wednesday, with Coach Stefano Pioli announcing last night that the squad would go into ‘ritiro’, or to a training camp, until then.
