The Giallorossi had fought back from an Eder free kick to equalise with Mohamed Salah, but a Kostas Manolas own goal decided the 2-1 result.

“It’s a defeat that we did not deserve and I liked the way the team played overall, but it was also our own fault for little defensive errors and the failure to convert our scoring opportunities,” the Coach told Mediaset Premium.

“When it was 1-1 we felt that we deserved more, so imagine after a defeat. We conceded two goals from Sassuolo at the weekend and two tonight from Sampdoria. You can’t win games like this.

“It’s a difficult moment, but if we continue to play like this, we will win many games in future. We were in control and conceded right as we were putting on the most pressure.”
