Inter could reportedly give Roberto Mancini an English-style manager role at the club, while they search for next season’s sponsor.

Director general Marco Fassone left the Nerazzurri last week and Gazzetta dello Sport has reported today that his departure could mean a new role for Mancini.

The position would be similar to Premier League managers, with a direct line between Mancio and the club’s directors and more influence for the former Manchester City boss over transfer activity.

The newspaper believes that President Erick Thohir has made a proposal to Mancini and is awaiting a response, but the future of sporting director Piero Ausilio needs to be clarified, although he could remain to assist the Coach.

The Nerazzurri are also looking to clarify their sponsorship situation, with Gazzetta reporting that Nike have given the club an extension of the date to name a main sponsor for next season.

The current deal with historic partner Pirelli expires in June, and Inter now have until October to reach a new agreement with the tyre company.
