The Biancocelesti went down to a Per Helander goal but managed to battle back with goals by Biglia and Marco Parolo.

“In spite of the initial disadvantage, we earned this victory,” he told Mediaset Premium after the game.

“We’re working well, we were criticised a bit in recent times, but our group is strong and united.

“In the second half the character of the team truly showed.

“We’re happy about the three points but now we must continue on this path.

“Our objective is to end the season as high up as possible, though we know it won’t be easy to qualify for the Champions League.”

The 29-year-old then discussed the idea that he could leave Rome and join another team.

“Rumours, just rumours. People hear these things and they criticise.

“I never said I wasn’t happy here.”
