“The change of system did well for us, as in the second half we were in charge more. It was a great Miralem Pjanic free kick to break the deadlock and his corner for the Daniele De Rossi goal too.
“It’s a shame that we conceded again. It would be a good idea from Tuesday to stop conceding goals.”
Leandro Castan made his first competitive appearance at the Stadio Olimpico for 500 days.
“It was important for him to come back. It’s symbolic that his last game before the injury was against Empoli and he returned against them. The warrior is back. Without Seydou Keita, we need De Rossi in midfield.
“There were a few too many offsides in the first half and we lost in terms of possession in midfield, but then Empoli had more men in that area.
“Another negative is that in the last five minutes I lost my voice in trying to motivate the players. There are some out there who also get angry when the others relax. We must relax at the final whistle and not before.”
Roma temporarily go second with this third consecutive victory, but Garcia won’t discuss the Scudetto race.
“The favourite will be the one that goes all the way. We want to fight to win. Now we are second and want to continue this winning streak.
“We can now concentrate on Bayer Leverkusen, knowing that we’ll go there to get a result. Edin Dzeko is close to healing completely and going into Tuesday’s Champions League game that is important for the team.”
