Juventus are reportedly interested in Empoli playmaker Riccardo Saponara, either in January or the summer.

The Bianconeri spent most of the summer looking for a trequartista, eventually signing Brazilian Hernanes from Inter.

However, Coach Massimiliano Allegri has opted to use the former Lazio man in a deeper role or not at all, largely abandoning his 4-3-1-2 formation.

Corriere dello Sport believes that despite this, the Coach is still keen to have someone to play the trequartista role, with the club considering Empoli’s Riccardo Saponara.

The newspaper speculates that a January bid could arrive, with the Turin club keen to take advantage of the good relationship with the Tuscan outfit.

Saponara is valued around €15m, but Daniele Rugani could be offered on loan to his former club to lower the price, as well as several youngsters being sent to Empoli.

With the Tuscans locked in a relegation battle however, it may be that the Old Lady will wait until the summer before launching a bid.
