“It won’t be an easy game against Inter, but we must try to find some consistency in our work,” said the Coach in his Press conference.

“We knew that there was something wrong in the defeats and the break for international duty was a great help, allowing us to fix a few things.

“Inter are a strong side built in the image of their Coach Roberto Mancini. It requires the perfect performance to irritate one of the best teams in the League.

“We must go out there with that attitude, that organisation and that focus that have been constants since I took over. We saw at Bologna that the squad had the right mentality, both on and off the ball.

“The Nerazzurri are strong in every area and have a complete squad with quality all the way through. They will certainly fight for the top spots until the very end.

“Obviously we can’t just sit back and defend. We respect out opponents, but we do not fear anybody.”

Iachini had a special message for Inter hitman Icardi, who was joint Capocannoniere last season with Verona’s Luca Toni.

“It’ll be nice to see him again. I gave Icardi his senior debut at Sampdoria and that day you could already see the qualities we now expect from him.

“The fact we can now count on Enzo Maresca and Sinisa Andelkovic again is certainly pleasing. Let’s not forget they’ve been with us for two years and already know what I ask of my teams.

“Stefano Sorrentino is always so reliable over the years and recently he’s been decisive for us.”

Palermo squad for Inter: Alastra, Colombi, Sorrentino; Andelkovic, Daprelà, El Kaoutari, Goldaniga, Gonzalez, Lazaar, Pezzella, Rispoli, Struna, Vitiello; Brugman, Chochev, Hiljemark, Jajalo, Maresca, Quaison, Rigoni; Cassini, Gilardino, La Gumina, Trajkovski, Vazquez
