“At the moment Napoli are probably the toughest team we could face right now, but that has to just motivate us even further,” the Coach told Mediaset Premium.
“If we go out there with our ideas and the right attitude, Chievo can cause anyone problems, including Napoli. The important thing is to avoid mistakes and stay focused on the details.
“I’m glad the big clubs have realised Maurizio Sarri’s talent, as we had a similar career path in the lower leagues and he is like a symbol for those of us who also came up through the ranks.”
Chievo will be without unlucky defender Federico Mattiello, who had only just returned after fracturing his leg in March.
“He sustained another fracture during a banal collision in training. It’s a difficult injury, less serious than the last, but it still represents a tough blow for the lad and for us.
“He has already shown what he’s made of. He’ll be back soon, remains strong and has a great character. We are close to him and we’re waiting for his return.”
