“I am happy with the performance, as the result arrived because we were tactically intelligent, we followed the plan and immediately broke through with a great Salah goal,” Garcia told Mediaset Premium.

“After that we set out as a block in midfield and on the counter-attack found the second goal.”

Salah scored and was then sent off for dissent in his first match back at the Stadio Franchi with fans whistling his every move.

“Salah played his game under a lot of pressure. It wasn’t easy for him, or for Gervinho, to defend on the flanks and then go on the counter, but they did it very well.

“This is the proof that Roma work for the group with heart and quality.”
