“I am more than proud and optimistic of these lads, as we lost due to two unlucky incidents against a great team,” Della Valle told reporters.

“It doesn’t change our status, as we are still in the top two. There were some mistakes, but the Coach will work on them, let’s not make a drama out of it.

“We had five incredible scoring opportunities, but football is made of incidents. I get the impression a great squad is forming here.

“We must be optimistic, keep our heads down and carry on working. Let’s take what is good from this evening. I remain optimistic and the entire city ought to be.

“Giuseppe Rossi looked good tonight, so let’s give him time to find his form too.”
