Although he has been courted by the Old Lady for a January switch, Calciomercato.com have reported that the trequartista has decided to stay in Tuscany until the summer.

The website believes that this is in order to ensure the 23-year-old has regular game time to boost his chances of making Antonio Conte’s Italy squad for Euro 2016.

The Stadio Castellani outfit are believed to be looking for a minimum of €20m for the attacking midfielder, 40 per cent of which would go to Saponara’s former club Milan.

Although the player’s agents are believed to be talking to the Bianconeri, the website believes that a reunion with Napoli Coach Maurizio Sarri is also a possibility.

Further afield, Premier League side Everton have been linked and there have been rumours of interest from German Bundesliga clubs.
