Fabrizio Castori felt Carpi defeat to Sassuolo on his comeback was “an unfair result.”

It was a very hard-fought game in the Reggio-Emilia Derby, the hosts emerging 1-0 winners thanks to Nicola Sansone.

“In my view we put in an excellent performance against a great opponent,” Castori told Sky Sport Italia.

“We conceded a goal on the only occasion when Sassuolo got into our penalty area. We were always alive and kicking, aggressive in the second half and sought an equaliser to the end.

“Even if we have a lot more work to do, I saw a very good performance and an unfair result. In my view, the draw was more than deserved.”

Castori was making his comeback just over a month after he was sacked to make way for Giuseppe Sannino.
