Zlatan Ibrahimovic says ‘there was a concrete Milan offer’ in the summer but that ‘it wasn’t what I wanted’.
The Sweden international was linked with a Rossoneri return throughout the summer and revealed in an interview how close the deal was to completion.
“Last summer there was a concrete offer from Milan,” he told Gazzetta dello Sport.
“If I’d said yes, we would’ve done the deal. But we never got to that point, it wasn’t what I wanted. But I was grateful to Milan.
“For me they are the biggest club I’ve played for, and I’ve played for a lot of major teams.
“San Siro, the city, the people, the language: I have amazing memories.
“I’ve always said Italy is my second home. I felt very good there. And if it had been up to me I wouldn’t have left Milan.”
