The world of football along with all of Europe was shaken yesterday night by the terrorist attacks that left more than a hundred people dead in Paris.

Staff members, players and journalists at Italy-Belgium stayed in the stadium and watched the updates as they came through, and some released comments shortly thereafter.

“I want to talk of something more important than football,” said Wilmot after the match. “I'd like to express my solidarity with France and the French people.

“What happened was horrible. It's a crazy world, it's an incredibly grave attack.

“Everything has to be done to contrast these attacks, we need to place everything under security.”
