The Serie A newcomers did arguably play better in the first half, but fell apart late on.

“It’s an excessively heavy result, but we did really well, especially in the first half,” Stellone told Mediaset Premium.

“We caused Inter problems and could easily have taken the lead with Soddimo’s volley. After the break the second goal really knocked the wind out of our sails.

“In a bid to get back into the game, we poured forward and lost our balance, conceding another two goals in the final minutes.

“As time wore on and we got tired, the individual quality of the Inter players emerged. It’s disappointing, we have to press the reset button and focus on the next two games against Verona and Chievo.”

Frosinone have only one point from their travels this season, a 1-1 draw away to Juventus.

“They were very different games, though. Juve really dominated us and created so many chances, but we held in there to the end and made the most of our one scoring opportunity.

“As for Inter, we had the better of the first half, but conceded a goal against the run of play. The difference is that Juve didn’t take their chances and we maintained our belief to the end.”
