Sebastian Giovinco has been named MVP in his debut Major League Soccer campaign with Toronto FC.

The Italy international scored 22 goals and provided 16 assists, taking the Canadian club to its first ever play-offs.

The Atomic Ant shattered MLS records, becoming the first player to reach at least 20 goals and 10 assists in a single season.

He won the Golden Boot as top scorer, was also voted MLS Newcomer of the Year and was part of the 2015 MLS Best XI.

The 28-year-old won the Landon Donovan MLS MVP Award by an astonishing landslide, winning 258.97 points compared to Kei Kamara on 13.06 and Benny Feilhaber with 4.95 in third place.

Giovinco received 94.37 per cent of media votes for the award, 87.27 per cent of club votes and 77.33 per cent of player votes.

He succeeds Robbie Keane, who won for LA Galaxy last year.
