“It’s fairly obvious to say we know the threat we’ll be facing,” said the Coach in his Press conference.

“We must be above all concentrated on our own performance, which must be to the maximum of our potential. It’ll be a struggle to limit these great players, but we must try to impose our qualities on the game.

“If we limit ourselves to focusing only on what Napoli do, then our entire approach will be dictated by them. It is not the right attitude to take.

“We know Napoli’s quality, but we can certainly have our say too and must try to create problems for our opponents to deal with. With determination and humility, we must make Napoli work hard for the points.

“I really admire Sarri, but I remember what people said at the start of his adventure at Napoli. So many are quick to judge and equally adept at changing opinion. All Coaches need time to build something important with a team.

“Just as it was not right to make certain judgements that early, right now they need balance when discussing Sarri and Napoli.”

Bologna had won Donadoni’s first two games in charge, held Roma 2-2 and were beaten by Torino last week.

“Every match teaches you something. We have to look forward and keep tight, as with an aggressive team performance we can allow individual talents to shine.”

Mattia Destro returns from suspension, but Domenico Maietta, Emil Krafth and Matteo Mancosu are in doubt.
