“It is difficult to ascertain what will happen in June,” agent Matteo Roggi told Tuttomercatoweb.

“Mattia has certainly been playing at a very high level for three years, despite the fact he is only 23 years old. If a merry-go-round of goalkeepers were to start this summer, he’d possibly be among the movers.

“I think that at the end of a growth process it’s only right that the lad challenge himself in other arenas, preferably with a club that plays in Europe. Could he go abroad? I won’t rule it out.

“I think Roma is a good idea. Mattia has the ideal characteristics to play at a club like Roma, as he has broad shoulders and doesn’t let pressure get to him.

“Roma had the opportunity to sign him as part of the Andrea Bertolacci deal, but didn’t seem particularly interested.”

The Giallorossi will need a goalkeeper next season, as Wojciech Szczesny is only on a dry loan from Arsenal and Morgan De Sanctis is nearing retirement.
