Milan targeted Giannelli Imbula over the summer and could revive their interest in the Porto midfielder.
He had been heavily linked with both the Rossoneri and city cousins Inter, but eventually moved from Olympique Marseille to Porto instead.
However, the 23-year-old has struggled for playing time and could be loaned or sold just six months after the €20m transfer.
Imbula made only 16 appearances in all competition, rarely managing a full match.
Tuttomercatoweb claim Milan are keeping a close eye on the situation and could pounce if as expected Nigel de Jong departs in January.
It would be a loan deal with option to buy at the end of the season.
