The former Rossoneri legend had tears in his eyes when walking out at San Siro, but left the home fans crying after Emanuele Giaccherini sealed a 1-0 result.

“I was really very moved. You think that after all these years the emotion of walking out at San Siro will dissipate, but instead every time the fans give me these extraordinary feelings. I thank them,” Donadoni told Sky Sport Italia.

“During the break I told the lads we could fight for this win with courage. We suffered under pressure and we ran risks, but we took the points home.

“What I really like about my team is that they have belief in themselves and are so enthusiastic. Today they realised they could beat Milan at San Siro and it happened.”
