If the Rossoneri don’t get a strong result, it’s likely they will fire the Coach even before Wednesday’s Coppa Italia quarter-final with Carpi.

The only concern is that figures within the club cannot agree on who should take over from Mihajlovic.

According to Sky Sport Italia, President Silvio Berlusconi is in favour of promoting former midfielder Brocchi from his current position as Coach of the Primavera youth team.

This would be the same career path afforded to Pippo Inzaghi and it is one that failed to last more than a season.

CEO Adriano Galliani is instead pushing for World Cup winning Coach Lippi in a temporary capacity until the club can find a more permanent option next season.

The initial plan was to have Brocchi as Coach and Lippi working as his technical director, but it seems the ex-Italy boss is not prepared to take this route.

The Corriere dello Sport even suggests the return of ex-Milan Coach Capello, who is a free agent after terminating his contract with the Russian Federation.
