Bayern Munich President Karl-Heinz Rummenigge “would’ve preferred to face Juventus a few months ago.”

The two giants face off in the Champions League Round of 16 and Juve are on a run of nine consecutive Serie A victories.

“It will be a difficult test, we know that, and we’ve been following their progress since the draw,” Rummenigge told reporters at an event in Milan.

The two giants face off in the Champions League Round of 16 and Juve are on a run of nine consecutive Serie A victories.

“It will be a difficult test, we know that, and we’ve been following their progress since the draw,” Rummenigge told reporters at an event in Milan.

“Now they are on the right track. We have a lot of respect for Juventus, but no fear. The draw was bad for both teams and it’s a shame to see one go out so early.

“Seeing the table and how they have climbed back up, I can’t help but think I would’ve preferred to face Juventus a few months ago. It could’ve been quite different.

“Paulo Dybala is a great buy, and the same goes for Mario Mandzukic.”

Former Inter midfielder Rummenigge always keeps a close eye on Serie A.

“Inter can still win the Scudetto. There are three sides challenging for the title, Napoli, Juventus and Inter. The Nerazzurri have done quite well, it’s a shame they lost to Sassuolo, but these things can happen.”
