The Coach was sacked today and will be replaced by Luciano Spalletti, who is expected to fly in from Miami – where he has been meeting with President James Pallotta – tomorrow afternoon.

Garcia drove out of the Trigoria training ground at 16.30 GMT and did not speak to reporters.

Meanwhile, the silence from the majority of Roma players has been deafening, broken by injured midfielder Strootman.

“Mister, thank you so much for all your support during my recovery and for always keeping faith in me.

“You believed in me from the start and signed me to AS Roma, and I will always be grateful for that.

“I wish you, Claude and Fred all the best for the future!”

Garcia was dismissed along with his coaching staff Frederic Bompard and Claude Fichaux.

His fitness staff had already been replaced over the summer, a sign that things were breaking down between Coach and club.

Kostas Manolas also posted a picture of himself with Garcia on Instagram and captioned it: "Thanks for the belief, Mister! Good luck! I wish you all the best!"
