Ex-Roma President Rosella Sensi believes Luciano Spalletti “could win the Scudetto” on his return to the club.

Rudi Garcia was officially sacked today and Spalletti is currently in Miami meeting with President James Pallotta and director Mauro Baldissoni.

He is expected to fly in for the first training session tomorrow afternoon and will be presented to the media on Saturday.

“I am happy as a Roma fan and a former director,” Sensi told reporters.

“I hope that with the return of Luciano, the fans can also rediscover that passion that has disappeared a little of late.

“He is a great Coach and a great man. He was our Coach for four years, with him we won three trophies and went so close to the Scudetto.

“He deserved the title at the time, I hope that the Coach can get what we were unable to achieve in 2008. I wish him all the best, Roma remains the most wonderful club in the world.”
