Sunderland are reportedly challenging Swansea City and CSKA Moscow for Roma's Seydou Doumbia.

The Ivorian joined the Giallorossi last January, but failed to settle and was sent back to the Russian club on loan.

However, the deal was only for six months, meaning it expires in the January transfer window.

Doumbia has already declared that he doesn’t want to return to the Lupi, and the feeling is mutual, so Swansea City have been linked as well as suggestions CSKA could make the loan permament.

Now Tuttomercatoweb is reporting that another Premier League side is interested, in the shape of Sunderland.

The 28-year-old scored just twice in 14 appearances for Roma, but has a more impressive record with CSKA.
