Giampiero Ventura believes Ciro Immobile brought more than talent to Torino after their 4-2 win over Frosinone.

The Granata were without a Serie A victory since November, but Immobile converted a penalty on his comeback and helped inspire Andrea Belotti’s brace.

“We needed the three points and today we saw a bit of fear, but with some more positive results we’ll gain confidence,” Ventura told Sky Sport Italia.

“We needed the three points and today we saw a bit of fear, but with some more positive results we’ll gain confidence,” Ventura told Sky Sport Italia.

“That disastrous 4-0 Coppa Italia loss to Juventus opened up a black hole and I hope we can close it as soon as possible.”

Immobile returned 18 months after his sale to Borussia Dortmund and then to Sevilla, making an immediate difference to Toro.

“Immobile didn’t just bring his capabilities, but also a bit of enthusiasm and a fresh mentality. He works for the team and is also good at finishing moves. I am happy he combined with Belotti for goals, as it was fundamental to break the ice.

“I am happy Fabio Quagliarella made peace with the fans and take this opportunity to thank the supporters for cheering us on throughout. They kept their word.

“I hope Maxi Lopez will stay, as long as he rediscovers the exceptional physical form he had last season. He has to be a protagonist and for that he needs to be in shape.”

The Argentine forward was reportedly dropped for gaining too much weight over the Christmas holidays.
