Gonzalo Higuain admits Maurizio Sarri “has a lot to do” with his extraordinary form of 20 goals in 20 Serie A games.

Pipita found the net with his fifth brace in the last six rounds to beat Sassuolo 3-1 and keep Napoli top of the table.

“We have to continue like this, we’re in good form and have to make the most of it. Now we have Tuesday and want to keep going,” he told Sky Sport Italia.

On Tuesday the Stadio San Paolo hosts Inter in the Coppa Italia quarter-final.

“I am working, I have confidence thanks to the Coach, my teammates and the club. Sarri has a lot to do with my form, a lot. I thank him and just want to maintain this form."

Pre-season Sarri famously told Higuain he could be the best in the world if he weren't so lazy.

“I have to stay calm, I’m working and want to help the team go as far as possible.”

After the final whistle, the Napoli players all went under the Curva to sing and dance with the crowd, a chant that goes ‘one day suddenly I fell in love, my heart beat faster, don't ask me why.’

“It’s a wonderful song and we have to keep it going.”
