Napoli Coach Maurizio Sarri’s alleged homophobic comments to Inter’s Roberto Mancini could result in a two-month ban, say reports.

Mancini was furious with the Partenopei boss after his side’s 2-0 Coppa Italia win on Tuesday, calling him “a racist and a homophobe who should be drummed out of football.”

Mancini was furious with the Partenopei boss after his side’s 2-0 Coppa Italia win on Tuesday, calling him “a racist and a homophobe who should be drummed out of football.”

Sarri responded after the match by saying he “couldn’t remember” what he said and that “these things happen”.

Gazzetta dello Sport reports today that Mancini spoke with federal prosecutors after the game and an inquiry is likely to be opened to shed light on what happened.

The newspaper writes that the Napoli Coach risks a two-month ban for the racist content of his remarks.
