“I would like to thank Porto for this year and a half, which has given me the chance to feel like a football player again,” wrote Tello on Twitter and Instagram.
“I got back to feeling important to a team, enjoying the sport and being happy doing what I love the most, which is to play football.
“The reason for my departure is simply because over the last six months I have not felt right. I think it’s a short career and wherever you are you should always try to be happy and enjoy this profession.
“Wishing all the luck in the world to the colleagues and friends, I will always be a DRAGAO, and a big hug to the Porto family!!!”
Tello underwent a medical in Portugal today and is expected in Florence over the weekend.
