Fabrizio Castori hopes Carpi can make up for the 2-2 draw with Palermo when they face off this afternoon.
It kicks off at 14.00 GMT, click here for a match preview.
“It is an important game and we know the importance of giving consistency to results. We’re behind in the table and need to catch up,” said the Coach in a Press conference.
Carpi are unbeaten in four rounds and held Inter to a shock 1-1 draw at San Siro last weekend.
“Palermo have a lot of quality with strong players from a great goalkeeper like Stefano Sorrentino to forwards Alberto Gilardino and Franco Vazquez and a determined midfield. We can’t get anything wrong against a fine side.
“When we played in Sicily in September we were winning until a couple of minutes from the end, so naturally that 2-2 draw did leave a lot of regrets. There’s no point going back on it now, we have to look forward and play a whole new game.”
Castori claimed on several occasions that Carpi’s rediscovered form is down to the club backing his vision, the one that got them promoted from Serie B, rather than the transformed side that started the campaign.
“The club is doing a great job of bringing Carpi’s identity back. We know Fabrizio Poli well and are happy he’s back. Eddy Gnahore and Stefano Sabelli settled in straight away.
“Jonathan De Guzman is a quality player and we await his return to fitness.”
