It’s reported Inter turned down a €30m (£22.7m) Liverpool offer for Mauro Icardi on transfer deadline day.

There had been rumours that Icardi was on the market after he was dropped for the Milan Derby and missed a penalty as a substitute.

It continues to be suggested that his rapport with Coach Roberto Mancini has broken down definitively.

Meanwhile, the Corriere della Sera newspaper claims Liverpool did make an offer worth €30m for the Argentine on transfer deadline day.

However, with so little time to find a suitable replacement, Inter turned it down.
