Reports say that Roma could ask Arsenal to loan Wojciech Szczesny for another season because of Alisson Becker’s international commitments.

Yesterday it was reported in England that the Giallorossi had decided against asking Arsenal to extend the Poland international’s stay in Rome as Alisson was due to arrive from Internacional.

However, Il Messaggero writes today that the situation is more complicated due to the Brazilian’s likely call-up to Brazil’s Olympic squad for Rio 2016.

The newspaper writes that Alisson’s involvement in August’s tournament would make him unavailable for the Champions League qualifying rounds should the Lupi finish third in Serie A.

The outlet believes that this means sporting director Walter Sabatini will ask Arsenal to extend Szczesny’s loan for another season to ensure the position is covered.

This could have a knock-on effect on Alisson, who could then move on loan to another team for one season or have to compete with the Pole for the number one jersey upon his return.

Alisson’s arrival from Internacional is widely expected to go ahead, but is yet to be made official.
