The striker left his mark on the game with a goal at the end of the first half, opening the floodgates for the Biancocelesti to win 5-2.

“Scoring at the last minute of the first half was important,” he said after the match. “We unblocked ourselves by playing the ball well.

“We can't afford the lapses in concentration we saw in the second half. We all needed to give a response, but this is still only a small step towards the goal we must reach.

“The goal was one of my kind, when I try to be faster than the goalkeeper. It was the only shot I could try. I even slightly dirtied it but in the end it helped.

“Over my career I've been more used to playing with two strikers, with myself attacking in depth.

“When there's three of us it changes things a bit, sometimes it's the wingers who go forward while I have to track back and come to the ball. I have to get better at this.”

Finally, the former Bianconero player was asked about the upcoming super-clash between Napoli and Juventus.

“I'll watch it because it's the type of contest that is beautiful to see. I think Juventus will win.”
