Italy international Matteo Darmian will be out for “several weeks” after dislocating his shoulder for Manchester United.

The full-back fell awkwardly during today’s 2-1 Premier League defeat at Sunderland.

Louis van Gaal told reporters Darmian had dislocated his shoulder and would likely be out of action for “several weeks.”

The former Torino man had only just recovered from another injury, when he was taken to hospital coughing up blood after a heavy knock to the ribs.

Now Manchester United have all their left-backs out of action through injury.

Darmian will have to miss Italy’s upcoming friendly against Spain in March.
