The Grifone have won their last three encounters with Milan, home and away, so does Gasp enjoy his reputation as a Diavolo-killer?

“I hope to continue like that. We need it now more than ever,” said the Coach.

“In these years we’ve beaten more or less all the big clubs. It’s a good morale-booster when that happens.”

There are many familiar faces on both sides, as Suso and Alessio Cerci are on loan from Milan, while ex-Genoa men Juraj Kucka, Luca Antonelli, Andrea Bertolacci and M’Baye Niang are now the hosts.

“I am very fond of them, above all Kucka, Bertolacci and Antonelli who were with us for a long time. Niang was here for six months and there were critics when he first arrived, but I met a lad eager to put himself at the disposal of the team.

“This is a strong test. This is what it means to be in Serie A, you get trips to San Siro, the Juventus Stadium, the Stadio Olimpico and the San Paolo.

“Milan are improving considerably compared to the first half of the season, when they had more ups and downs. I think Sinisa Mihajlovic and all of Milan are going a great job. I like the fact they built the team around Italian players.

“It’s never easy to come back from a difficult situation in Milan, so achieving that proves they have a strong character.

“Against the big sides you have to play very well on a technical and physical level to maintain intensity throughout.”

Leonardo Pavoletti, Cristian Ansaldi and the suspended Tomas Rincon haven’t made the trip.

“Ezequiel Munoz is in the squad, but he won’t start, as he is still feeling pain.”
