Vincenzo Montella is confident Sampdoria won’t get sucked into the relegation fight after a 0-0 draw with Atalanta.

The team was jeered at the final whistle of the uninspiring display, as they’ve picked up just two points in the last seven rounds.

“The team put in a good performance, as Atalanta don’t allow you to play, it’s just a shame we missed a few situations in front of goal,” the Coach told Sky Sport Italia.

“It’s a pity we didn’t win, we have to keep fighting to the end.”

Frosinone in the drop zone are now only three points behind Sampdoria and Genoa.

“Samp have to look only at our own results. If we play like we did today, creating and transforming the chances, then we are on the right track.

“Obviously we respect Frosinone, Carpi, Verona and the others. If our team realises that if they can’t win, it’s best to at least not lose, then we’ll do well.”
