Borja Valero relished Fiorentina “never giving up” as they fought back from a goal down to beat Inter and recapture third.

“We started really well and created many chances. It was tough to come back when conceding a goal like that, but this team never gives up and we proved it again,” he told Sky Sport Italia.

“This victory against a side like Inter really fires us up, but there’s a long way to go yet and we have to carry on doing what we’re doing.

“Tonight we rediscovered some of that style we’d had earlier in the season, there were positive sensations and we hope to continue.”

Fiorentina now take on Tottenham on Thursday in the Europa League, whereas Inter and Milan aren’t in continental competition.

“Obviously playing three games a week is going to sap some energy, but we won’t use it as an excuse. We want to do well in both tournaments.

“There are many points up for grabs and just as we caught up, so can the others.”
