“It’s been a long time since we’ve seen the stadium full and it’s wonderful for us, because football is about emotion and togetherness,” director of sport Sabatini told Mediaset Premium.

Roma have won four consecutive Serie A games since Spalletti replaced Rudi Garcia and the new Coach said Sabatini isn’t the only one at risk if they falter.

“Spalletti is a very generous man to include me in future victories! He is doing an extraordinary job, we can already see the fruits of his labour to a degree, but he above all needs time to forge the concept of the team and its football.”

Did the Giallorossi waste time in not firing Rudi Garcia earlier or would the former Coach have also improved matters with January buys Stephan El Shaarawy, Diego Perotti and Ervin Zukanovic?

“Our transfer choices were agreed with Rudi and Spalletti, so they both appreciated these players.”

Sabatini again cut down the many newspaper stories that he will quit Roma at the end of the season.

“I am absolutely calm. It has been a very heavy campaign, things emerged that I did not say and I never mentioned resignation. I was quiet.

“After the last day of the transfer market I had contact with Pallotta and we agreed to have another get-together in a few months, as we always do. We’ll see if we continue together after that.”
