Carlos Bacca laughed off reports of a bidding war and insisted “I’m happy at Milan. Best striker in Serie A? Me!”
The Colombian only arrived in January, but already there are rumours of a summer swoop from the likes of Manchester United and Bayern Munich.
“I am happy here at Milan, you can see that every day,” smiled Bacca on Milan Channel and Mediaset Premium.
“I am relishing the affection of the fans, my family is happy here and I work every day with faith in God, whether things go well or badly.
“It fills me with pride that the fans show such affection after such a short amount of time here. They make me want to continue working, being highly motivated and doing things the right way. I will continue giving the best of myself.”
“Who is the best striker in Serie A? Carlos Bacca!”
He is certainly the most accurate, as in 10 different games he has found the net with his first shot on target.
“I always play with the faith that I’ll score every time I touch the ball. I think that when I’m on the bench to reach the stadium and while I warm up. The first ball that reaches me, I want to put it in the net.
“At the start I had a few problems with the tactics at Milan, but with M’Baye Niang working more as a second striker I feel better as a centre-forward, keeping fresher when it comes to reaching the goal.”
Milan are now just two points shy of fourth-placed Inter, but visit Scudetto contenders Napoli on Monday evening.
“It will be a difficult game against a great side, but we are Milan and must give our best. Gonzalo Higuain is a great player, he’s proved that everywhere he went and this is his best season.
“Our objective is to get back into Europe and we’ve been working with that mentality from the start. It’s not easy, because we’re battling with six or seven other teams.”
