The Croatian 26-year-old is one of the strongest elements of Paulo Sousa's squad, but his relationship with the Viola directors is said to be fraught.

“I heard people talk of a misunderstanding, but what I've been saying is all true,” his agent Dejan Joksimovic confirmed to Calciomercato.it. “They've refused to pay my commissions for 18 months now.

“Eleven times I came to Florence, for nothing. I repeatedly requested a meeting with the President, but he never wanted to see me.

“Last year, after the first season in Florence, he told me that Badelj was worth only half the price that Fiorentina paid and that for this reason he would not have paid me.

“The directors are aware of the situation, but no solution was ever found. If the scenario doesn't change, Milan will leave in the summer, to a club that pays agents for their work.

“Badelj had one year of contract with Hamburg and Sevilla and Milan were after him, hoping to sign him as a free agent.

“We chose the Viola for their sporting project and Milan is proving to be one of the best in his role.

“I work with Badelj since he was sixteen and I never had something like this happen to me, I am disappointed.”
