Lazio President Claudio Lotito was reportedly overheard saying: “I’ve sold Felipe Anderson to Manchester United for €60m.”
The Brazilian winger has been linked with the Old Trafford giants since last summer, but this valuation is higher than the figures previously reported.
Il Messaggero has today reported that Lotito was overheard by journalists while speaking to colleagues after Salernitana’s Serie B match against Crotone yesterday.
“I signed Felipe Anderson for €8m and have already re-sold him for €60m,” Lotito reportedly said.
“Next year he’ll go to Manchester United.”
It remains to be seen how much truth there is in these statements, as the figure is significantly higher than the €48m United were believed to have offered previously.
