Gazzetta dello Sport reports today that the former Juventus Coach was directly contacted by the Blues in the last few hours and that the two parties have begun to discuss contractual details.

Conte is believed to be set for a Premier League adventure as he was impressed by the club’s facilities, youth sector and squad.

The newspaper believes that the London-based outfit won’t go beyond mid-March before announcing their new boss, with Diego Simeone of Atletico Madrid and Juventus’ Massimiliano Allegri also linked.

However, Conte has been taking English lessons and visited the club during the autumn to view their facilities.

The Blues are on the hunt for a new manager after Guus Hiddink succeeded the sacked Jose Mourinho on an interim basis earlier this season.
