Reports in Turkey suggest Lazio are interested in Galatasaray striker Lukas Podolski.

The German international spent the second half of last season on loan at Inter, but managed just one goal in 17 Serie A games.

Despite this, Fanatik is reporting that Lazio are keen to bring the former Arsenal forward back to Serie A this summer.

The Biancocelesti will meet Gala in the second leg of their Europa League tie this week, and sporting director Igli Tare could open negotiations.

It’s thought that the Turkish giants wouldn’t demand a big transfer fee, but the player’s wages could prove a stumbling block.

Podolski is under contract until 2018, taking home €3m per season, plus a €25,000 appearance fee.

The Aquile would therefore have to convince the player to lower his salary if they are to bring him back to Italian football.
